THUCYDIDES. The History of the Peloponnesian War… with notes… by Thomas Arnold… third edition. Oxford: 1847. 3vols., 8vo (215 x 129mm.) 12 maps and plans (8 folding). (Some spotting to first and last few leaves, numerous pencil annotations by a 20th Century unidentified hand.) Near contemporary half-calf, spines gilt (slightly scuffed). Provenance: Ambrose John Wilson (signatures dated 1874). - And six other volumes of related interest, all leather-bound (9).
