JOHNSON, Samuel. The Synonymous, Etymological, and Pronouncing English Dictionary… to which is prefixed an English Grammar by William Perry. London: 1805. 8vo (232 x 136mm.) (Some spotting and browning, occasional ink stains.) Modern calf-backed marbled boards (slightly scuffed, endpapers replaced). Provenance: W. Perry M.D. (signature to title-page); W.W. Rayward (inkstamp to title-page). Note: the editor William Perry was a surgeon of the Royal Navy, the signature on the title-page is therefore probably his.
