A James II silver West Country trefid spoon, the bowl back with rat tail, the terminal prick-dot engraved 'E.F 1688 W.C', the back 'W.G.', triple struck conjoined 'MR' makers mark and once more in miniature in a differently shaped punch to stem back, circa 1688 by Matthew Reeve of Bath, length approx 17.5cm. Note: See Page 127 of Timothy Kent's 'West Country Silver Spoons and Their Makers 1550-1750'.
