A mid-19th Century mahogany cased 'Worlds Barometer and Weather Indicator' by James Walter, the printed paper back with twelve monthly tables of various meteorological observations and explanatory texts, the lower right corner with registered number of instrument '284' and signed 'James Walter' centred by a large mercury tube with a pair of ivory vernier scales, above a brass cistern cover with cast inscription 'Wilson, Son and Walter, Liverpool', flanked by a boxwood mounted sympiesometer to the left and boxwood mounted thermometer to the right, within a mahogany glazed case with hinged front, height approx 103cm.
