An impressive Chinese rectangular jade table screen, probably Jiaqing period, of pale celadon/white tone, one side carved in relief with a riverside landscape with scholar on the nearer shore looking over at a smaller figure beyond, the other side with a butterfly hovering over a chrysanthemum emanating from an ornamental rock, approx 22cm x 15.5cm (small chip to lower corner), on a slotted hardwood stand with inlaid silver wire archaistic borders, framing carved green stained ivory and carved boxwood panels and galleries, pierced with peaches and the Three Friends of Winter (bamboo, pine and prunus), total height approx 35cm.
