A pair of Japanese Imari porcelain vases, Meiji period, each ovoid body painted with opposing oval red ground panels filled with birds amongst blossoming branches, reserved against a blue and white ground depicting birds and flowers about a meandering stream, the similarly decorated flared neck flanked by a pair of dragon-fish handles, iron red six character mark to base, height approx 38cm (one repaired).
