A Japanese Satsuma earthenware koro and cover, Meiji period, the lobed ovoid body thickly enamelled and gilt with a peacock perched in a pine tree opposing a fenced flower garden, beneath a floral band collar and pair of Buddhistic lion cub handles, gilt Shimazu mon and signature, probably Gyokuzan, to base, height approx 20.5cm (cover restored).
