A Chinese part enamelled silver filigree and parcel gilt basket and cover, early to mid 19th Century, of hexafoil outline with hinged overhead handle, each side applied with figures, landscapes, and river fortress scenes picked out in blue, green, aubergine and yellow enamels, one enclosing an engraved European monogram, width approx 18cm. Note: A similar example is illustrated on Page 30 and 31 (Cat.Nr. 29) of 'Silver Wonders from the East, Filigree of the Tsars' from the Hermitage Museum, Amsterdam. See also Page 110 where the basket is discussed and given a tentative attribution to Master Cutshing.
