A Chinese pale celadon jade lotus bowl and a cover, 18th/early 19th Century, the bowl conceived as a lotus flower, internally with two rows of veined petals containing a seed-pod centre, the exterior carved as a single row of eight petals each containing one of the eight Buddhist emblems in low relief, the cover exterior carved with a double series of petals with repeated formal lotus flower heads, the original ring foot mounted with a contemporary lotus pod finial, bowl diameter approx 11.8cm (the bowl with three hairline vein inclusions, the cover with single vein in the stone).
