A pair of Japanese Satsuma earthenware vases, Meiji period, each hexagonal body enamelled and gilt with opposing panels of chrysanthemum and bamboo, reserved against a blue ground filled with gilt chrysanthemum and simulated brocade, gilt signature and blue enamel Shimazu mon to bases, height approx 25.5cm (one with chip to foot).
