A Victorian 1857-pattern Royal Engineers sword by Harman & Co., Chatham, with slightly curved single-edged blade, length approx 82.5cm, etched with crowned V.R. cypher, flaming grenade, foliate scrolls etc, gun-metal honeysuckle hilt with wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its plated steel scabbard (blade worn, hilt slightly buckled), together with a French 1874-model gras bayonet, blade dated 1879, in its steel sheath.
